Manifesto
This is a manifesto.
A declaration of our vision.
A statement of our values, and what we envision for atlas.
ATLAS is the greek titan condemned to hold up the heavens, the verb associated with him by Virgil is 'durus' or enduring. We aim for software that endures, for knowledge that lasts.
Look around you. We live surrounded by ones and zeroes, while none the wiser as to how they work.
The digital tapestry has been carefully woven to make our lives easier... But what of those who wove it?
These unsung heroes built the things we stand on. Join us as we unravel the threads of this tapestry.
Of compilers that transmute human thought into machine command, of operating systems that breathe life into hardware, of databases that conjure memories from the void.
This is systems programming.
Not a simple skill, but a quest for mastery that spans lifetimes. We do not build ephemeral trinkets that shine brightly and fade. We forge the very anvils upon which others fabricate their creations.
We are ATLAS. We endure. We hold up the heavens not because we must, but because we choose to. In a world of disposable software and transient applications, we stand for permanence. In an age of shallow understanding, we dive deep.
Join us, as we pay our tributes and try to form our own enduring legacy.
